Kennedy (12) collected 222 all-purpose yards against NMSU as well as two rushing touchdowns.

The Sun Belt Conference recognized Wesley Kennedy III as Special Teams Player of the Week, announced Monday.

The junior running back had an impressive homecoming game against New Mexico State where the Eagles won 41-7 and Kennedy notched 222 all-purpose yards. Kennedy also returned a punt for a 67-yard rushing touchdown, the first of his collegiate career.

Kennedy also put up a career-high of 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns against NMSU, averaging 23.8 yards per carry.

Kennedy is the fourth Eagle to receive Sun Belt weekly honors this season. The Eagles will be back in action as they take on rival Appalachian State Thursday.
