The Georgia Southern softball team has named Brock Van Faussien an assistant coach.

Van Faussien will be responsible for all offensive aspects of the team in addition to recruiting.

“I’m confident he’ll be able to continue the growth we’ve shown over the last two years becoming one of the top hitting teams in the Sun Belt,” Head Coach Kim Dean said in a press release. “While also aiding us in finding future Eagles to bring to Statesboro.”

His most recent coaching venture was at Pittsburgh as an assistant coach during the 2018-19 Panther season. The team scored 192 total runs last season.

“Brock brings a wealth of coaching experience to our program, and a track record of success offensively,” Dean said.

Before Pitt, he served as a volunteer coach for the University of Georgia. The team scored 364 runs compared to their opponents’ 138 during the 2017-18 season, where they finished 48-13 overall.

He has also worked as a baseball graduate assistant at Clemson and assistant coach for Liberty University.

Van Faussien joins Dani Price as another key offseason coaching change.
